Salem’s Riverfront Carousel was handcrafted between 1995-2001 and is distinctly Oregon themed with various State symbols as part of its artistic attraction. All of the items, including the animals were and are ‘adopted’ with sponsorship and support from our local community. We strive to keep the dream alive by embracing our global community, promoting tourism/volunteerism, providing cultural/educational opportunity/events/programming, and continuing business/agency partnering. Our goal remains to inspire creative living, community cohesiveness, cooperation, diversity, inclusion, imagination and fun, for generations to come!

Save the PT Boat, Inc.was established in July of 1995 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, formed by a group of gray-haired ex-PT boaters to take custody of an historic relic, PT658, a World-War II motor torpedo boat, and restore it to original operating condition. Save The PT Boat, Inc., operates and displays the PT658 in the Pacific Northwest as a recognized historic monument as well as a living memorial to all those who manned, fought, serviced and maintained these small warships during the second world war. As of 2012 PT658 has also been named to the National Historic Register by the National Park Service.
The organization has accomplished quite a lot, with a work force of dedicated hard working volunteers, except when specialty trades are needed. Restoration and maintenance is an on going project, but the organization still needs help for a new Educational/Heritage Museum and as well as for those additional restorations and maintaining the boat and other items.

As a commissioner, collaborator, and presenter, SKC performs locally and nationally with the top choreographers, artists, and dancers while proudly celebrating LGBTQ+ identity in dance and the performing arts. Since its founding in 2018, the organization has been an originator of many unique projects and collaborations, from staging the first queer chamber opera “When the Sun Comes Out” to preserving the archives of community dance elders. In the progressive, independent spirit of Portland, its aim is to advance the artistry of contemporary dance and queer performance while fostering an exchange of ideas between artists and communities.

Silverton Country Historical Society was established in 1974 and the museum was opened to the public July, 1976. It serves the general "Silverton area" in order to encompass the original communities that played a significant role in the development and growth of the town known as Silverton. Silverton was surveyed, platted and incorporated in 1854, four years before Oregon became a state. Much of our collection has been donated by families who descended from pioneers of the 1850’s.
